Explore the incredible diversity of Texas’ grasslands and savannas during an evening of talks from local experts and enthusiasts. Three presentations will highlight unique plant communities, habitat ecology, and propagation techniques that bring these landscapes to life.

Each speaker will give a 45-minute talk followed by time for questions. The evening wraps up with an instructional course on propagating native grassland and savanna species, and Houston-grown native plants will be available for purchase.

Akash is pursuing a degree in plant ecology at Cornell University. He also operates Post Oak Nursery, specializing in native plants from North, Central, and East Texas with a focus on grassland and savanna flora.

Practical Tips for Native Plant Germination and Growing Out Seedlings
Blas has 15 years of experience in landscaping and garden education and has spent the last 8 years building Next Door Nursery, dedicated to growing and providing local ecotype plants of the Houston region for restoration and conservation projects.
