This four-day training is designed to teach the participant the safe use of fire as a rangeland and wildlife habitat management tool. It provides the formal training necessary to qualify the participant as a Certified Prescribed and Insured Burn Manager in the state of Texas.

Exam and Burn Field Day included (weather permitting).

Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn Managers: There will be a one-day workshop held on Tuesday, May 19th for burn managers who are interested in receiving Continuing Fire Training (CFT) (6) credits in conjunction with the workshop. Fee: $50.

Instructor: Sandra Rideout-Hanzak, Certified Senior Wildland Fire Ecologist & Research Scientist. Department of Rangeland and Wildlife Sciences and Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, Texas A&M University Kingsville.
