Call for Presenters
The Texas Coastal Prairie Conference Planning Committee welcomes presenters and field trip hosts! Priority topics for this year's conference include: restoration and conservation success stories, species monitoring and management on private lands, conservation easement funding opportunities in Texas, technical guidance for landowners, grassland management, controlled burns, wetland management, partnership projects and strategies, native plant community restoration, green energy and sustainable land management, prairie education, climate change opportunities and challenges, land use changes in Texas, and ecotourism.
To apply to present, please email Conference Coordinator, Bethany Foshee, with the following information before July 31st:
Presentation Title
Presentation Abstract – A short paragraph (3-5 sentences) describing the session, what participants will learn, any materials participants should have with them.
Presentation Topic Category – see above for priority categories.
Duration – Length of time (in minutes) requested for presentation - 15 - 60 minute range.
Preferred Presentation Format - Most presentations this year are panels with each speaker presenting a mini-presentation for 15-20 minutes followed by moderated Q&A. Please let us know if you prefer single speaker; Q&A panel session; multiple speaker/mini-presentation session; interactive workshop; field/outdoor class; or another format.
Co-presenter: Please let us know the name(s)/affiliation(s)/contact information for anyone who will be presenting with you.
Preferred Presentation Environment – Indoor classroom or outdoors on the UHCL Campus. Field visits to your site are also an option for Saturday, October 29th.
Maximum Preferred Class Size - for hands-on/outdoor workshop format only.
Technology/Classroom Needs
Presenters will be welcome to join conference attendees at our networking dinner on the UHCL campus on Friday evening.
